BIO
All the way from the land of Brazil, Ares Maia is a New-York based, filmmaker and published book designer. She has worked with Saturday Night Live, Sony Music, Marvel Entertainment, and more.
Maia’s personal projects are often about her experiences being a young immigrant in the suburbs of the United States. Her films and booklets aim to shine a light in the depths of ordinary life, as well as serve as a place for her to free the shame she had for her poor upbringing as a teen in a wealthy neighborhood of Connecticut.
Ares holds a BFA in Communication Design from Parsons School of Design with a Minor in Film Production 2020.
